These interactive pages cover American Colonies, grades 3-5. There are interactive pages for New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern Colonies along with individual templates for any colony or group of colonies you may be studying. I have included picture examples and use specific colonies only as a guide to model how a page could appear. $

OMG this is the best sewing idea. I hate eyelets and grommets and for a low-tension garment like an overbodice, this would work great.

Detail front, coat and waistcoat, France, 1780/1790. Blue silk faille, fabric covered buttons; ivory silk serge lining. This day coat is definitely that of a fashionable dandy largely influenced by the Anglomania of this period.

Two Nerdy History Girls: A Beautiful (and Romantic) 18th c. Man's Shirt from "The Diligent Needle" Exhibition
Beautiful detail of 18th century men's shirt.
The bosom slit reinforcement can be reinforced in so many ways. This one has one simple bar tack at the top and a network of thread below. It appears as though this is made of a slightly heavier thread than the other sewing on the shirt. Interestingly the bosom slit is sewn with the same size hem as the rest of the shirt. The hem is close to 1/8 inch. — with Tony Holbrook at Department of the Geographer to the Army, 1777-1783.
