Mafra’s Carrilions show

We had the perfect timing after visiting the Mafra National Palace and could listen the weekly Carrilions show! The Mafra carillons are a set of two carillons commissioned by D. João V for the bell towers of the Royal Building of Mafra, consisting of a total of 98 bells, which makes them one of the largest historical carillons in the world. They were declared, in 2019, together with the entire Royal Building of Mafra, as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
