Centro de Portugal

Our artists retreat in Ponte Da Mucela is in the Centro region of Portugal - known for its small villages, relaxed lifestyle, and friendly people. The green, rugged landscape of this region is crisscrossed by rivers. Major cultural attractions are historic villages, frontier castles, and both Roman and Celtic archeological sites. Mountainous with some plateaus, it is dominated by the Serra da Estrela mountains. Popular outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, tennis, canoeing and skiing.
