A great vintage 1960s silver faceted garnet and marcasite floral spray brooch attributed to Shipton & Co (the style and quality of the brooch can only really be S&Co I believe). The brooch has three claw set faceted garnets stones one round, one teardrop and one oval. The stones are beautifully cut and polished and it sit within an array of glittering marcasites finished with a pretty double bow detail. The brooch is secured with a roll-over clasp which works as it should. Brooch sizes: The garnets measure between approximately 11mm and 7mm. The whole setting measures approximately 43mm x 34mm (about 1 and 3/4 inches x 1 and 1/2 inches). A great vintage 1960s silver faceted garnet and marcasite floral spray brooch attributed to Shipton & Co (the style and quality of the brooch can only really be S&Co I believe). The brooch has three claw set faceted garnets stones one round, one teardrop and one oval. The brooch is secured with a roll-over clasp which works as it should. Brooch sizes: The garnets measure between approximately 11mm and 7mm. The whole setting measures approximately 43mm x 34mm (about 1 and 3/4 inches x 1 and 1/2 inches). The brooch is shown in one photo next to a UK penny which measures 20.3mm (about the size of a US nickel) Conditions: The reverse side of the brooch is stamped silver and tests accordingly. The stones have no deep scratches or indeed chips/cracks and the marcasites are all present and in good condition. The brooch overall is in really nice condition but as with all antique/vintage jewellery it may still show some signs of age related wear and patina. Please refer to the photos and short video as these form an important part of the condition appraisal. The photos are close up to show detailing and condition and as such the brooch will appear larger so please also look at the brooch sizes.
