HISTORY: In 1780, Haiti was one of the wealthiest regions. France traded slaves with other countries to make a wealthy economy. In 1791, there was a slave revolt against the French. As you see in the picture, the Haitians are fighting against the French. In 1844 the island split in two; Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
