Excellent set of 4 antique Thonet garden chairs ( garten sessel) . C 1980, by Gebruder Thonet; Wien (Vienna), Chairs appear in the 1906 Thonet catalog; sessel Nr. 121. Makers labels on under frame. The set has a charming European Art Nouveau period bistor/beer garden style, rustic , hand crafted with iconic seat and chair back motif, soft curves to the sides of seat and back, and a curved rolled front to seat and with back clope for comfort. Simple and provincial construction of legs with supporting X base, the chairs have a country bucolic appearance perfect for farmhouse, European, cabin or cottage setting.
