Ten incredible and mysterious places around the world untouched by mankind
Dallol, Ethiopia. Today, salt mining takes place in the vicinity of the Dallol Volcano, so strictly speaking this isn’t an untouched area. But the immediate area of the volcano is, of course, uninhabitable. Fascinatingly, scientists believe the alien-like landscape of the volcano bears a striking resemblance to the surface of Io, the violently volcanic moon of the planet Jupiter.
I happened to be driving down this rather wonderful road in Utah just as the moon was setting. I’m not one of those mega hardcore photo-nerds that knows every moonset and the status of the moon… I kind of wish I was. Or, I wish I had a little helper monkey that would inform me of these things. But, I just occasionally get lucky and have my camera with me. - MONUMENT VALLEY, UTAH - photo from #treyratcliff Trey Ratcliff at http://www.StuckInCustoms.com
