cabernet sauvignon grapes

Grenache grapes originated in Spain but are most often associated with France’s Rhône Valley where it is used to make Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It was one of the first wine grape varieties introduced to Australia. California’s ‘Rhone Rangers’ are also producing this grape in the United States. Its aromas and flavors are spicy and suggestive of raspberries and often has floral notes. Grenache tends to lack acid, tannin and color, so it is most often used as a blending grape.
