Seoul, South Korea will now be home to the largest floating island in the world. This remarkable piece of architecture will be one of Seoul’s major landmarks. Set on the River Han the island is built in three parts held together by twenty three weather proof chains secured to a buoy. The island has been designed such that it will stay afloat even in case of a flood.

Joining in the pedalling fun is easy, as the city maintains bicycle-hire stations at various points along the river.' http://www.lonelyplanet.com/south-korea/seoul
Cheong-gye-cheon (South Korea). 'A raised highway was demolished and the ground dug up to ‘daylight’ this long-buried stream. It transformed Seoul’s centre, creating a riverside park and walking course that’s a calm respite from the surrounding commercial hubbub.' http://www.lonelyplanet.com/south-korea/seoul
