REPINNED from Sarah - Whenever I go to Chicago, I can't help but feel disgust towards the massive overuse of iron fire stairs. If there is a fire, wouldn't the iron begin to heat and melt? Also, iron is electro conductive. What else can we do to safely evacuate a building? There must be a better idea than this.
