This dress, c 1860, was designed by the first and very famous fashion house, the House of Worth, Founded by an Englishman and former draper, Worth managed to charm the French Empress Eugenie and convinced her to wear his designs.
Haute Couture Charles Frederick Worth afternoon dress gown circa from French 1875. Made from silk with lace, pleated ruffles and tassel trim marked by darker colors drapery fabric, oversize accessories and elongated forms include the bustle skirt at the back. Dress, House of Worth 1906. A more modern dress by Worth. This has some modern features but also contains many classic looks from previous Worth pieces.This dress doesn't feature a bustle but the fitted waist gives the illusion of a fuller bottom. 2/1/16.
