G.K. Chesterton (quoted by Fr. James V. Schall, SJ) once bristled at someone's admonishment that he was too jovial and comical in his sharing of the Truth: the Truth is still the Truth, and didn't cease being the Truth because Chesterton was being funny. Likewise, a priest I know is very serious and reverent whilst celebrating the TLM, but has a wicked sense of humor. The reason: the opposite of "funny" isn't "serious" or "true." The opposite of "funny" is... "not funny."
