HORSE GUARDS in WINTER ~~~ Horse Guards Parade is a large parade ground off Whitehall in central London. It is the site of the annual ceremonies of Trooping the Colour, which commemorates the monarch's official birthday, and Beating Retreat.
Foot Guards - are infantry regiments of the Household Division, recognisable by the bearskin worn on their heads. They are responsible for the military security of the sovereign. These are the Coldstream Guards Corps. of Drums from the Massed Bands of the Foot Guards, marching back to Buckingham Palace after 'Trooping the Colour'.
