Caught in the act. Apparently Gizmo thought he could catch the bird through the curtain. An impressive acrobatic feat really. #cat #cats #catsofinstagram

I had ideas of what it would be like driving a left hand drive car. I also had ideas of what it might be like driving on the right side if the road as apposed to the left. Having done both for an extended distance from navigating the beautiful yet tricky streets of Paris to cruising through the French countryside I have learnt two things: 1. French drivers are incredibly efficient. If drivers back home in South Africa could adopt the same highway manners of religiously yielding to faster…

Day 4 of our European winter adventure involved slapping on some skiis and learning the best way I know how: diving in head first. I've had many preconceived ideas about many a thing this trip one of them was what it would like to ski on snow. Firstly snow is crunchy and really strange. It's like frozen air that creaks and moans when you walk on it. Secondly skiing is not as challenging as I thought it would be. If you can ice skate you should be able to skii. There seems to be some…

A shot of me standing with my feet on both the east and west sides of what used to be the Berlin Wall.

Inside the gasometer was the Wunder Der Natuur exhibition. Basically a whole bunch of media extracts from the BBC's nature documentaries. It was excellent though nothing quite compared to the main floor's display: a 20 meter in diameter scale animated Earth. A series if projectors projected a seamless animation of our planet's many moods. Storms day/night cycles it's rotation etc. Two were particularly interesting: one of our ocean currents and a subsequent one of the air currents generated…

Today day 11 of our trip I was fortunate and lucky enough to get to check off one of any petrol head's top 3 bucket list items; drive a powerful car in the German autobahn's deristricted zones. The vehicle I drove was a Jaguar XJL. It has around 385hp driving the rear wheels all generated by a 5 litre v8 much like the one in the image attached. I'd have loved to have filmed the experience to keep but it wasn't possible. My takeaways: TL;DR: Don't drive slow cars fast. Fast cars actually…

Day 9 and we adventures infotainment Cologne a little. An excellent chocolate museum and some cool street food. We also got to see the inside of the Cologne Cathedral which was incredible! Massive stained glass windows and age old architecture.
