Dún Lúiche (Meaning the fort of Lú, the celtic god of Light) The white marble village church, dating from the 1840's stands roofless and forlorn beside a wind-ruffled lake but still has a compelling beauty of its own. It lies in the heart of Derryveagh Mountains: to the north rises Errigal mountain, Donegal's highest and to the south is Sliabh Sneacht (i.e. snow mountain). The old white church and its walled graveyard with its solitary gravestones has long been abandoned to nature.
