It may seem silly to have a color by numbers to explain how I learned to read and write, but one of my earliest memories is of my mom and I digging through the crayon tin looking for the perfect color. I was just learning to read which meant I had no idea what "blue" said on the color key. She would teach me how to say the word and then I had to go look for the color in the bin.
