Ensete glaucum Snow Banana This exciting but little-known banana relative is also known as Musa nepalensis and Ensete giganteum, hinting at the plant's giant size and is synonymous with the legendary “Snow Banana” Ensete wilsonii. It grows in China (Yunnan 800-2700m a.s.l., 2600-8800ft !), Nepal, India, Burma, Thailand and possibly also in Tibet and other places. It has a thick, waxy and blue, solitary trunk, huge blueish leaves up to 10ft/3m long. Produces edible fruit.
