For "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", Nick Dudman and the creature effects department built a twenty-five-foot-long, one-and-a-half-ton animatronic Basilisk so that Daniel Radcliffe could truly interact with the terrifying creature. #HarryPotter
Once Helena leaves, Salazar turns on the Baron, nearly killing him, which makes Godric extremely angry, as he doesn’t know the Baron’s dark deeds. Salazar angrily leaves, abandoning his basilisk in the bowels of the school out of spite, having felt as if he has been betrayed by both muggles and wizards alike. He is never heard from again, though there are rumours that he went north and lived among centaurs in a Norwegian forest, where he spends the rest of his days studying the stars.
"I was terrified...mainly because that day there were loads and loads of extras and it was the prospect of all of them knowing who I was, which was quite frightening. I was trying to blend in." - Daniel Radcliffe on the first day of filming #HarryPotter #DanielRadcliffe
“…He’s no longer earthbound and he’s no longer burdened by all the problems that he has when he’s on the ground. If he could only fly forever, he’d be all right.” – Steve Kloves, Screenwriter #HarryPotter
"Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf and Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends." - Dobby #HarryPotter
To create the Devil's Snare in Sorcerer's Stone, giant tentacles were wrapped around the actors and manipulated and pulled off of them by unseen puppeteers. Then the film was played backwards - making it appear as if the vines were grappling with the characters rather than being removed from them. #HarryPotter
