Australian flag - The national flag of the Commonwealth of Australia. Designed by Ivor Evans, was chosen by over 32,000 contenders. Adopted on the 3rd September, 1901, then stood above the Exhibition Building in Melbourne.
Lewis & Clark found the Russian bead (smooth/faceted blue glass) to be valued by Indians on the Columbia River. in the Great Lakes region (1675) the French introduced smaller "pony beads," easily transported by traders on ponies. in 1840 colorful tiny seed beads were traded in bulk. uniform colored & sized beads dramatically changed the decorating of clothing. by 1800 glass beadwork replaced quillwork as ornamentation & has continued to be an integral part of Native American artwork.
