Fanny Mills (1860-1892). Fanny was the daughter of English immigrants and suffered from Milroy disease, a condition which restricts development of the lymph vessels in the legs. Even though she was a petite woman, she had to wear size 30 shoes. Fanny's manager offered a small fortune to any man willing to marry her, and she received many proposals. She married a man named William Brown and died in 1892 after a short illness.
