Under adverse conditions, the Michigan State women's cross country team surged to a sixth-place finish and sophomore Caleb Rhynard earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute, Ind. The women totaled 236 points to record the highest finish since 2007, third-best in program history, and Rhynard is the first MSU men's All-American since 1997.
Among 35 of the nation's top-ranked programs, the Michigan State cross country team competed at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Held at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, the ninth-ranked women raced to a fourth-place team finish with 200 points, while the men finished 26th with 583 points.

The Michigan State cross country teams return to Madison, Wis., on Friday, Nov. 15 for the 2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships. The meet will be held at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course with the men's 10,000-meter race set to begin at 1 p.m. ET, with the women's 6,000-meter race to follow at 2:15 p.m. The top-two schools in each race will receive an automatic bid to next week's NCAA Championships.
Oct. 28, MSU proved true to its tradition as a cross country powerhouse when junior Sara Kroll won the 2012 Big Ten Championships at MSU’s Forest Akers East golf course. Kroll finished the 6K race in 20:13 and led the Spartan women to a second place team finish (while the men finished seventh in the 8K race). #spartans
The Michigan State cross country team came out strong at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn. Held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on the campus of Minnesota, the women finished second overall with 72 points, while the men earned a sixth place team finish with 219 points.
