Ansel Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist. His black and white landscape photographs of the American West are known world wide. Adams had a love for the natural world and incorporated this in his photographs, focusing on the detail within nature itself. He grew up in San Francisco, California. The adams family originally came from England and the british countryside fascinated Ansel with it's rich variety of wildlife and nature, he often came to England on trips.
