Gorgeous Miriam Haskell amethyst-colored, triple-strand necklace and drop earrings, featuring, faceted beads, with metal-gold, pearl & rhinestone accents.  Born in Tell City, Indiana in 1899, Miriam Haskell moved to New York City in 1924 and opened a jewelry boutique in the McAlpin Hotel in 1926.  Haskell became a great success with many celebrity clients, such as Joan Crawford, Gloria Vanderbilt, Lucille Ball and the Duchess of Windsor.  Florenz Ziegfeld actually outfitted his chorus girls with Haskell jewelry!  It’s interesting to note that pieces created prior to 1950 are rarely signed.  Set of earrings measure 2 1/8" each.
