Tsarskoe Selo: a village outside of St. Petersburg that the Romanov Tsars and Empresses loved to call home, containing amongst its buildings the Catherine and Alexander Palaces. IMAGE: Catherine Palace, Tsarskoye Selo, Russia
Catherine's Palace, St Petersburg, Russia. We met a group of friendly young people here, who were on vacation from Iran. When I told them that there was nothing in the U.S. to compare to this opulence, one young man said that was because we had never had a dictator. Interesting observation.
