During my childhood summers I would pick bucketfuls of ripe red currents with my grandmother in WV and then help her make current jelly with them which we enjoyed all winter long on her homemade biscuits... they were amazing!

.At Christmas as a child we would have red currents with Icing Sugar ( I think Americans call Icing sugar some other name) Cream and Ice cream YUM....Red currants are great as a Pavola topping
