Team holding photograph taken by Susan Meiselas in Jan. 1982, showing the walls of a burned house and charred remains under the fallen ceramic roof tiles. The two story cement house in th background is the only structure that reveals the location of that home today, which the team plans to evaluate for future exhumations.
The Thai Pavilion at Olbrich Gardens covered with snow. Photograph by Peter Patau. The pavilion features gold leaf etchings, a lacquer finish, and intricate decoration. Amazingly, the pavilion is able to withstand the winter weather of Wisconsin with no protection because it is constructed of plantation-grown teak and weather-resistant ceramic roof tiles. The gold leaf, however, is delicate and not able to withstand the oils of the human hand.
