Telling the bees is an ancient folk tradition of northern Europe, in which the family would keep a hive of bees at the home. It was a necessity that the bees be kept in the know of any news that befell the family. Good or bad, trivial or grand, it was crucial that someone told the bees.
Frontier Town, Helena, Montana: Built, starting in 1946, by John R. Quigley & his wife Sue, Frontier Town was not only a noted summer tourist attraction, it was a grand example of American folk art. It was located west of Helena, just below the summit of McDonald Pass, with a beautifully expansive view east toward the Helena Valley.
