The Amazing Work of Querubim Lapa
From the 1800s onwards, tiles were also applied on exteriors, on façades, configuring long urban fronts of great rhythmic and chromatic dynamism. In the middle of the 20th century, there was a renovation of the tile art in Portugal, both formally and technically, and in terms of the types of application, gaining a new vitality. This was mainly due to a generation of artists and architects that introduce a new dynamic and renovation of this secular art.
