Dead Presidents: Abraham Lincoln
The final resting place of Lincoln is 10 feet below this slab of marble. Grave robbers had attempted to take his remains in 1876. So when the whole burial site was renovated around 1900, son Robert insisted on making the remains untouchable. Lincoln was put in a metal cage, which was then encased in concrete and sunk well below the surface. Mary is in the wall behind him, as are sons Eddie, Tad and William. Only Robert is missing from the family reunion; he's in Arlington National Cemetery.
