We chose burel for the uppers of the first Mini Mukishoes not only because it is a local material, but also because of the versatility of this felted wool, which is naturally water repellent and has the ability to self-reguate temperature, which means the feet should never become too warm nor too cold. Additionally, the cork rims and extra fine and flexible rubber soles sewn all around provide extra insulation and water repellent properties to keep the feet dry when outdoors.
