In her 2011 design, artist Sanna Annukka pays homage to Raanu—a traditional Finnish woven textile defined by vibrant folkloric patterns. Historically, these folk art weavings covered tent-like dwellings of the Sami natives of Finland. Symbolizing nature and the changing seasons, the graphic illustrations of Sanna's Raanu pattern pop in an optic, linear composition.
