2001 - Saying Goodbye: On Thanksgiving Day, Mary Kay Ash, the woman who brought her dream of opportunity for women to life, passed away. The "extraordinary thing," said Richard Rogers, son and Company co-founder, "was the way Mother inspired people to believe in themselves."

1964 - The Company earned a quarter of a million dollars in its first year. This picture appeared in the September 20, 1964, issue of The Dallas Morning News, with an article that quoted Richard Rogers, Mary Kay's son, as saying, “At that rate we will close our first year next month with over a quarter million dollars in sales. And if this rate continues, we ought to reach our first million next year.”

1973 - At the Ground Breaking ceremony in Piscataway, New Jersey, for our first Northeastern Distribution Center, more than 300 Consultants and Directors were present for the afternoon ceremonies. In the evening, a Mary Kay Pep Rally was held with over 700 Consultants, Directors and guests on hand.

On October 31, 1990, Mary Kay traveled to Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona to help deliver sunscreen and other products to the troops. On June 7, 2000, she received an e-mail from Sergeant Thomas Al Lopez, a retired Army soldier who was there that day: “On behalf of myself and many soldiers that I have come across during my career, a big thank you. A soldier that will always remember you.”

During the 1991 two-month book tour for Mary Kay's autobiography, Mary Kay Ash, Nancy Thomason, Susan Posnick fell asleep in the back of the limousine. When the book was launched, her autobiography was described as “the success story of America’s most dynamic businesswoman.”
