published in "Dogon Images & Traditions" Four members of a same family successively danced with the same mask. It was on the occasion of a Dama held in Sangha in the early 1980’s that Ana Dolo fetched the wood in the bush and carved his mask in isolation. He passed it on to his younger brother Adiené, who in his turn gave it to his nephew Yamalou. Still later Yamalou handed it down to his younger brother Assegoum.
