A pivotal city if you want to know more about Moorish rule in the Middle Ages, Cordoba is a treasure trove of culture and history. The city’s old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most visited tourist spot is the Mezquita or the Grand Mosque of Cordoba. The building was built as a mosque but later converted into a cathedral. The architecture has Islamic influences with beautifully illuminated red and white stripes.
