Lynda Carter may be best known for her role as the titular character in the original TV series Wonder Woman, but since then the actress has also become a staunch supporter of women’s reproductive rights, a gay rights activist, and an award-winning singer. Linda Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona July 24th 1951, the daughter of Juanita (née Córdova) and Colby Carter. Her father is of English and Scots-Irish ancestry, and her mother, whose family hailed from Mexico, is of Mexican, Spanish, and French descent.
