#Drumstick, a powerhouse of minerals, has been part of the South Indian diet since ages and is considered invaluable in #Ayurveda. The drumstick tree (#moringa), also called the ‘miracle tree’ is commonly found in the backyards of Kerala houses. Apart from the stick-like fruit, the flowers and leaves are also used in curry, and the bark is used in Ayurveda medicines.

Derived from Drumstick, the leaves of the tree are small and round, green in colour. They are used in South Indian cuisine. Drumstick leaves are used in dals, kormas and sambar. They are added to variety of curry dishes by mixing with coconut, poppy seeds, and mustard.
