If you've got preppy, classic style, an easy way to look more polished is to layer sweaters and blouses. But they're bulky! And static-y! Enter everyone's favorite fashion secret: the fake collar, aka a dickie or dickey (and apparently also called a "collar bib" by some stores). These are only partial shirts -- just the collar and a bit of the shoulder -- so they're easier to layer, fit all sizes, get less dirty, and can even be kept at the office.
