1940s dress pattern

Buttons down the one side of the skirt, very clever!

Simplicity 3992; ©1941; Misses' and Women's Dress: Fashioned on ever-flattering princess lines, the gracefully flaring skirt extends to a point above the waistline for a tapering effect. The blouse is softly gathered at each side where it joins the skirt in a pointed seam. The classically round neck is closed with buttons at the front. I got this fabric from Artenio at the same time with the mustard yellow one for this Amelia dress. It took me quite some time to decide on the pattern. I did not have a lot of fabric so many dresses with their circle skirts were unfortunately out of question. Finally, I decided to make the 1940s tea dress by Sew Over It.

Dress is dart-fitted at waistline, front and back, and joins gathered skirt below natural waistline. Du Barry 5626 ©1943 Bust: 34 in. Waist 28 Hip 37 Pattern is unprinted, precut and complete. Envelope has edgewear and discoloration. It is missing the bottom flap. INCHES TO CENTIMETERS
