How to Grow Celosia | Cut Flower Garden Resource | Floret Flowers
Celosia is a hardworking group of plants grown for their fuzzy, velvet-like flowers that come in a distinct range of shapes, including fans, plumes, and brains. They are vigorous, free-flowering, and easy to grow. They love hot, dry weather and require very little care. In addition to producing an abundance of gorgeous, textural stems that are a wonderful accent for arrangements, they can be dried and used any time of the year.

How to Grow Dahlias from Seed | Cut Flower Garden Resource | Floret Flowers
If you haven’t grown dahlias from seed, I highly encourage you to give it a try—it’s the ultimate treasure hunt. Unlike tubers or cuttings, which produce an exact clone of the plant they come from, dahlias grown from seed offer a treasure trove of new possibilities, each one something that’s never existed before. The opportunities are endless, and if you find one you love, you get to name it! I’d love to hear about some of the discoveries you’ve made in your garden.

Today I want to take a minute and send a big ole dose of encouragement to all the newbie flower farmers, farmer-florists, and greenhorn gardeners out there. I feel your pain! I know you’re excited and scared and probably freaking out about the upcoming growing season and how you’re going to get it all done. I’ve been there, felt it, survived it, and lived to actually love it in the end. I thought I’d pass on a few things I’ve learned along the way that I wish I had known way back then.
