Emily Dickinson Typed Quote

actually this is incorrectly credited to emily dickenson...the quote is from Charles Dickens' Great Expectations: "Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape.”

Poems by Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson is one of my favorite poets. The idea that she wrote so much, for only herself, fascinates me. Why didn't she shout from the rooftops? But I feel that it is this privacy that too made her work great. She knew no one would judge her work, making it genuine and unrestrained.

Especially in the case of poetry, quantity is almost never accompanied by quality. Often, the more concise, the sharper the punch packed within the poem.
