"She never missed sending me flowers on my birthday. And she was in the hospital that week and everybody was expecting her to be released. I got up the next morning and I turned on the morning news and there it was. She died on my birthday. And that afternoon … her flowers arrived for me."— Carol Burnett 'The flowers came with a note that read “Happy Birthday, Kid. Love, Lucy.”' Hollywood Legends, Beverly Hills, Divas, Redhead Funny

In 1951 when the I Love Lucy show was set to launch Lucille was very pregnant with daughter Lucie. In those days, you simply couldn’t be pregnant on TV so they strategically hid Ball’s bulging belly. However, a year later Lucy was expecting her 2nd so the show decided to risk it & give Lucy & Ricky a little one, too—even though they still weren’t allowed to use the word “pregnant” on TV. This made history with an incredible 44 million viewers tuning in to the very special birth episode. William Frawley, Queens Of Comedy, Vivian Vance
