WINTER TRAIN TRIP THROUGH THE ROCKIES ~~  This is one of our most magical Canadian winter adventures. Antonio Locatelli's 1918 Ansaldo A.1 Balilla aircraft, at the Museo storico di Bergamo | Giorces - Own work | Antonio Locatelli (1895 - 1936) was an Italian aviator and journalist. He served in Gabriele d'Annunzio's air squadron during the war against Austria and was decorated. After the war he became a deputy to Parliament. In 1924 he attempted a transatlantic flight but was forced down into the seas off Greenland, whence he was rescued. The Man Who Owned 400 CARS | Military AUSTIN STEVENS | The first purpose-built military scout cars were based on Austin Stevens, like this 1929 example. It's not known how many were made, but of those that were, most were issued to Britain's Royal Artillery to allow Battery Commanders to move between observation points. Hood | The joys of a wintertime ride to Mount Hood, as well as the details of a classic 1913 Packard, are well conveyed by this well-made photo by an unknown photographer. The car is almost certainly a Model 38, introduced in December 1912 and powered by a new, smaller(!) six cylinder engine displacing 415 cubic inches.
