Tikal, Guatemala
The Maya civilization attracts attention just by its appearance. But as one of the greatest civilizations hidden deep in the jungle, Tikal deserves extra attention. The man-made lakes, stadiums and palaces are unique and impossible to find anywhere else in Guatemala. However, the pyramids are the main subject of scientists. For the time in which they were built, the pyramids are modern. Furthermore, no one knows for sure whether they were built for religious or scientific reasons, to bury the dead or for all of these at the same time. How can you not get goosebumps from these stories and not see an enormous curiosity arise?

Tikal, National Park in Guatemala
Tikal is an ancient Mayan citadel in the rainforests of northern Guatemala. Possibly dating back to the 1st century AD, Tikal flourished between the years 200 and 850 AD and was later abandoned. Iconic temple and palace ruins include the giant, ceremonial Pyramid of the Lost World and the Temple of the Great Jaguar. At 70 meters, Temple IV is the tallest pre-Columbian structure in the Americas and provides stunning views.
