Shangyang
Shangyang in Chinese mythology is a rain bird or rain bird. In Chinese folklore, this creature was one of several important mythical birds. Shangyang is especially associated with the Rain Lord, Yu Shi. Shangyang once visited the royal court in Qi, where he performed a dance on his foot, after which messengers were sent to Confucius in the neighboring state of Lu to ask him about the significance of this event: Shangyang was known to Confucius, who predicted the inevitable heavy rain and advised to dig drainage and raise dams. Thanks to the sage's advice, Qi was saved from the impending flood, while other states that didn't listen to the advice suffered serious damage.
